We’re delighted to announce that Countrywide Metals has once again been recognised at the Midlands Enterprise Awards, this time receiving two awards for 2026:
Best Scrap Metal Recycling Service 2026
Customer-Led Service Innovation Award 2026
Following our recognition as Best Scrap Metal Recycling Service 2025 – Birmingham, receiving two awards this year is something the whole team is extremely proud of.
For us, the recognition reflects more than the amount of metal we process. It recognises the service we provide to our customers, the people behind the business and the continued investment we are making in the future of scrap metal recycling.
A lot has happened at Countrywide Metals over the past year.
We have continued to invest in our equipment, technology and workforce, helping us improve the efficiency of our recycling operations and the service we can provide to customers.
Today, our team has grown to 28 employees, all working towards the same goal – making scrap metal recycling straightforward, efficient and rewarding for our customers.
Investment in new machinery and improvements across our recycling operations are also helping us increase efficiency and strengthen our environmental performance as the business continues to grow.
We have also been featured in SME News as part of the Midlands Enterprise Awards 2026, where the publication takes a closer look at our growth, approach to customer service, continued investment and commitment to the future of metal recycling.
Being recognised as Best Scrap Metal Recycling Service 2026 reflects the work our team carries out every day for businesses across Birmingham, Solihull, the West Midlands and further afield.
We work with customers across manufacturing, engineering, construction and a wide range of other commercial sectors, providing services ranging from commercial scrap metal collections to purchasing and processing metals.
Whether we’re dealing with a smaller quantity of scrap or providing an ongoing recycling solution for a large commercial customer, our approach remains the same – provide a reliable, professional and transparent service.
Receiving the Customer-Led Service Innovation Award 2026 is particularly important to us.
As we have grown, maintaining a personal level of customer service has remained one of our priorities.
We are a family-run business built around honesty, reliability, professionalism and sustainability. Building long-term relationships with our customers has played an important part in our growth, particularly with businesses that rely on us for regular commercial collections and scrap metal trade accounts.
Being recognised specifically for customer-led service reinforces something we have always believed – growing a business shouldn’t mean losing the personal service that helped build it in the first place.
2026 has also seen another important development for Countrywide Metals.
Our commitment to quality and environmental responsibility is now supported by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification, covering the buying, selling, transportation, handling and processing of metals.
These internationally recognised standards complement the investment we’re making throughout the business and our continued focus on responsible metal recycling.
For our commercial customers, it provides further reassurance that they are working with a recycling partner committed to professional standards, environmental responsibility and continual improvement.
Being based in Birmingham puts us at the heart of one of the UK’s most important manufacturing, engineering and construction regions.
We are proud to support businesses across Birmingham, Solihull and the wider West Midlands with reliable scrap metal recycling services that help valuable materials remain in use and contribute towards the circular economy.
As more businesses focus on their environmental responsibilities and sustainability objectives, we believe professional metal recycling has an increasingly important role to play.
None of this would be possible without the people behind Countrywide Metals.
Our continued growth, investment and recognition are the result of a team that works hard every day to provide the level of service our customers expect.
Led by CEO Amy Bird, we’ve worked to create a culture built around teamwork, respect and continuous improvement. Amy also founded Women in Recycling, supporting her wider mission to help change the narrative for women working within the recycling industry.
Receiving two Midlands Enterprise Awards in 2026 is recognition that belongs to the entire team.
Winning awards is something we’re extremely pleased about, but we’re not standing still.
We’ll continue investing in our people, equipment and recycling operations while looking for new ways to improve the experience we provide to our customers.
Our aim is simple: to show what modern scrap metal recycling should look like – professional, reliable, environmentally responsible and focused on delivering genuine value to the businesses we work with.
A huge thank you to our team, customers and everyone who has supported Countrywide Metals.
If your business produces scrap metal and you’re looking for reliable collections, competitive prices or an ongoing commercial recycling service, speak to our team.
